NO MAKEUP, MAKEUP

I've been loving experimenting with products based around natural ingredients lately, from brands such as Chantecaille and RMS Beauty. Both brands have a lot of thin-textured liquid and balm products which are light on the skin and leave you looking glowy and radiant.

The key to this look is the texture of the products used, and how well they work together. I tend to avoid powders and stick to balms, gels and liquids which are light and blend beautifully into the skin. By using products of a similar texture they become total versatile and multi-functional, they can be layered, mixed and pretty much used all over! The best way to apply all of these products is with your hands for a really natural, blended finish.

This look is all about the base, so prep your skin well first to make sure it is super moisturised and hydrated. If you have normal to dry skin a rich, emollient moisturiser such as Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream is perfect as it creates a lovely, glowy base for makeup.

Starting with the foundation, Chantecaille Just Skin is the ultimate 'no makeup, makeup' do-it-all base. This is essentially a tinted moisturiser but it has amazing coverage whilst still looking natural, it glides into the skin and creates a gorgeous glow. As it is so natural and seamless to blend into the skin you can even go a shade darker which IMO just adds to the healthy glow!

For a natural pop of colour on the cheeks I love both the Gel Bronzer and Cheek Gelee in Happy from Chantecaille. The textures of these liquid products work seamlessly with the tinted moisturiser to create a natural no-fuss flush on the face!

Highlight is where you can really add the glow, and these two wonder products from RMS Beauty leave the most natural, glowy sheen, without a speck of glitter in sight! For the most subtle of cheekbone highlights use the RMS Living Luminiser for a pearly, sheen. For a more natural golden hue that can be applied all over I love the RMS Master MixerThis product is super versatile, and can be layered over lips, cheeks and eyes for a rose-gold glow or even mixed into your base.

And finally, finish off the look with lips; a simple gloss or balm is perfect to keep them moisturised and leave them looking nourished. I love this rose coloured and flavoured balm from Vaseline, cheap and cheerful and leaves a lovely, rosy hue! It can also be used on the cheeks for a subtle healthy sheen.

  3. I'm impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across a blog that's both equally educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you've hit the nail on the head. The issue is something too few people are speaking intelligently about. Now i'm very happy that I stumbled across this in my hunt for something relating to this. itunes login
