FOLK FLORALS AND FLARES

You know the drill, Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking stuff... But this Season I just can't get enough of the new Folky Florals, making a comeback in the form of embroidered just about everything!

Russian Folk influences can be seen in the bold embroidery, opulent textures and colourful, floral motifs featured everywhere, from High Street denim to catwalk couture; I love this floral embroidered choker for a subtle hint to the theme. It adds an accent of Floral Embroidery without being OTT, and is the perfect addition to add a bit of interest to a really simple look.
Accessories are perfect when you want to dip into a new trend; instead of committing to one head to toe outfit, accents like this choker give you so much more freedom to style it up and mix-and-match your own looks.
This necklace perfectly meshes that 90s choker trend with the Russian Folk look - a potentially confusing combo but somehow it just works! Taking a hint of floral embroidery and keeping it current.
Wearing white in Summer is always a winner, the perfect compliment to that golden Summer glow, and the bold florals also look great against a crisp white shirt. Here I have opted for this girly ruffle-sleeved shirt from Zara, along with some fluted culottes that mirror the flared silhouette of the top (also from Zara!)

I topped off the look with these soft, suede velvet-effect boots (similar here) adding another luxe texture that hints to the Russian Folk trend.
